About

Welcome to my website! I'm so glad you are here.

My name is Tann Cordell-Schneider and I have been a licensed and practicing massage therapist in New Orleans, LA since 2019 (LA-8891). I have trained in many modalities including Swedish, Deep tissue, Myofascial release, Mayan Abdominal massage, Biodynamic Cranial Approach, and Visceral Manipulation (essentially, organ massage). I will explain some of these techniques below!

My work tends to focus on pain relief, emotional release, and helping people learn about their bodies. I love to offer simply exercises or stretches that I think will be beneficial to my clients as a way for them to care for their bodies. Whether someone is coming in with chronic pain or simply wanting to decompress, my work will be tailored to the person in front of me.

Please stand-by while I am waiting for more professional photos. In the meantime, here is me and my dog!

My Tools

Which techniques I use in any particular day vary depending on what is needed.

Swedish and Deep tissue are the basics of any massage as a way to warm up the body.

Myofascial release works with the connective tissue of the body. I love this work because it tends to produce a longer laster change in the body structure and connects us to our nervous system.

Biodynamic Cranial Approach is a often threaded into all the work I do, though I also do full hour sessions with this technique. It is a very light touch, often clothed, modality that allows the body to sink into a very restful and healing space. It allows the body to find and connect to its own natural intelligence.

Mayan Abdominal massage is a very soothing and gentle approach to working with the organs. It is very relaxing to the nervous system.

Visceral Manipulation is often used in conjunction with other techniques but I also do hour session with a combination of Mayan Abdominal and Visceral. In Visceral I am working very specifically and very directly with the organs. Our organs are muscles tissue like any other tissue in our body and they can easily get stuck and loose their own natural rhythm. This is similar to how we feel tightness of restriction in our neck or shoulders. Freeing the organs can have profound effects on our whole body including our nervous system, digestive, hormonal, and lymphatic systems. It can benefit people with IBS, sciatica, even back pain.
